- peatmoss 7y agoAs Racket moves to Chez Scheme as its back-end, I believe it’s not JIT but natively compiled: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chez_Scheme https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chez_Scheme EDIT: it should also allow Racket to be ported to more backends because the move to Chez is meaning more of Racket is implemented in Racket.
- darkpuma 7y agoIf you want a lisp on mobile kick, I've heard good things about lambdanative. It would still be cool to have racket mobile apps though.
- mark_l_watson 7y agoI have only looked at the code and built the demos for lambdanative, but from what I have seen if I had to write mobile apps then I would seriously consider it. It is built in the excellent Gambit Scheme.
- hajile 7y agoI believe Lispworks supports iOS and Android. Since they compile natively, there's no JIT issues on iOS.
- KirinDave 7y agoYou could just do what Python does and accept your language runtime is unbearably slow?
