I have seen completely the opposite in the wild. In fact I've only seen it so far in the opposite direction (Java consuming far more memory than Python) that I have to ask what on Earth you are doing with Python to have found yourself in such a position. (I've never successfully used Node so I have no idea what that's like in memory use.)
