How does that make a difference for boot time and non-compiz desktop use? Isn't the screen image rendered by the CPU, and blitted to the video memory?
- colanderman 16y agoAlmost all modern video drivers provide 2D acceleration (including Intel's X.org driver). From firsthand experience, I can attest that running unaccelerated X is painfully slow.
