Async seems virulent. But a few days ago I was writing a small TCP app, and I could not find the timeout argument to Python’s asyncio open_connection. Then I realised I didn’t need it: I could simply create more complex behaviour by combining async primitives. I don’t even want to imagine how much code I’d need to write in order to implement something like that thread-wise (given that a library simply forgot to add it).
