There was a much-hyped recreation of a train crash at last year's Burning Man. The crowd that turned up to watch it was massive. The actual crash was a bit anticlimactic; To avoid generating a bunch of debris, the crash happened at very low speeds.

- yason 7y agoThat's about a low as you get... I wonder why did they even bother with that? The very point of a train crash, or any crash, is to seriously total the equipment and see debris flying, and also the theoretical possibility of a memorably injury, isn't it? What does anyone get out of a couple of locomotives playing bumper cars, with fireworks to give it at least some dazzle to go with it?
- TheSpiceIsLife 7y agoInteresting! What’s next? Stinger missile demonstrations as art.
- PaulAJ 7y agoThat would totally fit in to Burning Man.
