Soap strips away all the barrier oils produced by your skin to protect itself. Natural skin is slightly acidic with a pH of around 5.5 and so for the last 30 years I have used tablets of a soap substitute with the same pH value. These are called "sebamed", (manufactured in Germany). Highly recommended.
