I would agree even if it weren't self-serving (coughgazehawk.com/jobs/cough)...I worked in industry for a year before starting my own company, and I'm really grateful for it (my team was awesome!). At the same time, my experiences at larger companies (internships), while useful, didn't give me nearly the experience and exposure to different parts of businesses that smaller companies do. My theory is the smaller the better, but I only have ~3 data points to support that.
