I agree that DSLs are the future for defining useful declarative code, and most languages/frameworks see turning to this direction (React JSX, Flutter Widgets and the other 100 HTML-like frameworks for example)
Also DSLs still can be written without macros, a lot of frameworks use functions and builders to define a symbolic representation to be consumed later.
