Can someone post a TLDR?
- ChrisSD 7y agoThe author dislikes both Python and Docker. But mostly Python. For the reasons why, see the article (you can safely skip the first two paragraphs). The biggest gripes are concurrency and package management.
- harel 7y agoI read it as a "my language/platform/paradigm" is better than yours. The reality is that all platforms have problems and what is important is to get the product done. The end user doesn't care how. The how is for us developers, and to satisfy our current curiosity and provide us the challenge of the day.
- dionian 7y agohe was basically saying something like you shouldn't be using docker to escape the real problem which is having a stable application deployment environment (using python paths and envs as an example). i dont see why the two are necessarily related. docker lets me package a reusable and repeatable deployment of OS+application ... if you want to use that as a crutch to solve environment problems, why not?
