- asveikau 7y agoFlorida has hurricanes though. Not to mention the risk of "Florida man".
- pizza 7y agoThere's a reason for all those Florida man stories! Might change your mind about them: https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/how-floridas-proud-open-government-laws-lead-to-the-shame-of-florida-man-news-stories-7608595 https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/how-floridas-proud-open-g...
- H8crilA 7y agoOr the sunny day floods and the eventual submersion.
- steven2012 7y agoAlso sinkholes and flooding caused by global warming!
- Ididntdothis 7y agoAlso alligators!
- carlivar 7y agoI would think Arizona is safer than Florida. A lot of DR datacenters in Phoenix.
- t34543 7y agoArizona ranks very low on frequency of natural disasters, but there is a lot of temperature related aggression. Its kind of normal to be threatened with a gun.
- carlivar 7y agoWhat's the source of that information?
- t34543 7y agoPersonal experience. Here is a study to back up the relationship between heat and aggression: https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/6f7e/ce3f7045e645f6b5891a80a10236cabd9f0f.pdf https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/6f7e/ce3f7045e645f6b5891a80...
- oil25 7y agoIf true, this doesn't bode well for the recent heat wave in Alaska, which is already the most violent and dangerous state in the US.
- blhack 7y agoThat is absurd. I’ve lived in Arizona for almost 15 years and I don’t think I know of a single person who has ever been threatened with a gun.
- monocularvision 7y agoOver 40 years in AZ and same experience.
- whymauri 7y agoIn Florida you are a dice roll away from getting your house leveled every decade.
- imperialdrive 7y agoI'm in North Dakota right now for a few days from SF... you'd be trading earthquakes for mosquitos, ticks, and snow!
