This is the kind of story where if it was about something I had intimate knowledge of, I would be laughing hysterically/offended at how distorted the reporting was. I have zero specific knowledge of this Facebook group or the people involved, I’m just reacting to the tone of the article, the highlighting of certain egregious posts, the explanation of the origin of a slang term ... all these things feel like tells for inaccurate reporting.
