If you're a top 1% driver, defensive, experienced etc., then putting yourself in an AV means assuming greater risk.
If you're in the latter group, you would be rightly horrified each time there's an AV accident.
(the "on average across the population it will be safer" doesn't mean anything for drivers who are already well above average)
- taneq 7y agoTrue, assuming you're in top-1% condition. Even a usually top-1% driver is going to be far worse off if they're tired, or distracted, or had a fight with their partner that morning, etc.
- unionpivo 7y agoProblem is that about half of my friends think they are in that top 1% Besides we need solution that works for 80% of the people. there will always be some edge cases
