Discoverability is the issue. I wish there was an established way to discover content regardless of the platform it’s hosted on.
- bpicolo 7y agoGoogle search, reddit, HN, social media of various sorts? There's a ton of discoverability out there. Youtube is not the only path
- atemerev 7y agoGoogle search is, well, controlled by Google. Just like Youtube. Social media is also ridden with content policies and censorship (Reddit is among the better, but they are still centralized, and Reddit search is a joke).
- mastazi 7y agoYes but Google search is a search engine, whereas what I’m thinking about is some sort of recommendation engine, along the same lines of YouTube’s, but not limited to a specific platform. Probably it’s not sustainable from a business perspective so it’s just a dream.
