TikTok is a strange one - It has some great content, but if you scroll through the home feed, you still stumble on pictures of kids dancing and lipsyncing in... inappropriate ways. I think this is a pretty limiting barrier to entry for a lot of users.

I loaded TikTok to look at it to see if it could be useful to a some of our clients as an adjunct to twitter and Instagram and I found it creepy. I suspect that both of our clients will not Be Using TikToc

TikTok is just what vine was years ago, its a really entertaining platform for people in their 20s to laugh at but I get why boomers arent into it there's a reason why everyone in their 20s shares tiktoks across twitter/discord/ig you never see mention of them among the older twittersphere/boomer fb for a reason

Everyone in their 20s is sharing sexualized videos of 15 year olds?

You are ignoring all the videos on the platform which aren't that

The ones it was showing me certainly had that pervy vibe

How do you suggest they get rid of those (without an untenably-large moderation staff)?
- cycrutchfield 7y ago
They do already have an extremely large moderation staff. Most likely every piece of content that has a large number of views has been moderated already. If it’s visible to you, that means they are OK with that content being available.

It's a Chinese company. If they know how to do one thing well, it's "moderate".
