Recently traveled internationally. I cannot agree with the claims of this clickbaity article. In the security line there were numerous signs telling passengers they could opt out of having their photo taken. As I approached the kiosk, I mentioned that I preferred to not have my photo taken, and was nearly cut off by the lady asking for my passport. I'd argue that getting my passport scanned was quicker than waiting for the machine go take your picture.
