Or would perhaps not be an irreversible first swoop, so to speak, but instead oscillate deeper each time? Unknowable and unlikely, perhaps, given that it's not happened before. But a part of me wonders what it looks like when we get to the point where the charts and graphs don't go back up again.

We are lucky to be observing an infinitesimal slice of time on a planet that is ancient beyond our human concept of time. To think we understand anything about how complex systems of Earth's climate work across hundreds of millions of years, is hubris, pure and simple. To think that we can affect the climate, both positively or negatively, is a ploy for political and technological power, and it is a dangerous game to play. It's the same story, over and over again... https://www.apnews.com/bd45c372caf118ec99964ea547880cd0 https://www.apnews.com/bd45c372caf118ec99964ea547880cd0 If you were a scientist conducting research and only had 1/10th of 1/2 of 1% of data to work with -- it's easy to see how all your conclusions would eventually be wrong. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19970905 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19970905
