Yep, I've seen it too. Some people act that way because they experienced the same kind of abuse when they were starting out. They end up dishing out what they themselves received, perhaps believing that that's the way things are supposed to go. Others, do exactly the opposite and retroactively compensate for their mistreatment by being kind and supportive in a way they wished they had been treated.
