I had a zero cost drunken ambulance ride and anti-nausea shot in Australia and the doctors here seem to be paid reasonably enough - although maybe here they get more people going into medicine interested in helping people over profiting from them. And I'm sure the cost of a medical degree in America also has something to do with that :)
