Fair question. From the guidelines: On-Topic: Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity. As I've learned over the years, what's off-topic for me, isn't necessarily off-topic for everyone else. Lots of articles on HN that have left me bored, but turns out they work for other people. I posted this because I found it interesting to finally understand what the fainting game was, and how dangerous it could have been. I suppose it resonated with other people too.
