I also feel bad (guilt), but that doesn't really serve me. I compost (feed my soil) spoiled food. There is no waste in that type of closed loop system. I also have kids and it's hard. Don't beat yourself up just get a tiny bit better each day. Living in this country is hard when it comes to seeing the ignorance to waste. I'm sure people will wake up eventually.
