"historically women have been on the receiving end of physical violence from men far" Without the "from men" it would presumably not even be true. And the "from men" doesn't really justify retaliating against modern men in general. Some men are rapists, most men fight rapists and many risk their lives in the line of defense (policemen, fire fighters, soldiers...). Yet they also get blamed for the deeds of the rapists. It's just weird.
