As someone with an MA in Art History, this is simply astounding and unbelievable. None of the people on that school board seem to have any historical perspective: - Rivera, his work and his pupils like the mentioned painter were left wingers actively denouncing white privilege, slavery etc. - The work is meant to be critical and through being uncomfortable evoke discussion and reflection - Destroying art because “it doesn’t fit what we think is right” has many really bad examples in history. I really can’t believe this is happening. Totally sickening and it makes me despair for the education of the kids under this school board.
