Just to clarify: I don't work on side-projects when I'm in the office, "at work" or using their equipment. Only at home and on my own equipment. My contract also states that they understand people do other activities and the company doesn't want to own them unless they are a competing activity. And frankly, even if they did want one of my projects they wouldn't do anything with it and I can move on pretty quickly.
