Its the ABC, its basically our government funded socialist station. Their journalistic integrity is zero, and its often where the journalists who can't get jobs anywhere else end up. Sort of a catching tray for the unemployable.

The rest of Australia begs to differ: "Conducted in May [2018] by Roy Morgan, the MEDIA Net Trust Survey reveals that while Facebook – and Social Media generally – is deeply distrusted in Australia, the ABC is by far the nation’s most trusted media organisation." and: “Australians told us that their trust of the ABC is driven by its lack of bias and impartiality, quality journalism and ethics. While their distrust of Facebook and Social Media is driven by fake news, manipulated truth, false statistics and fake audience measurement.” Source: https://www.roymorgan.com/findings/7641-media-net-trust-june-2018-201806260239 https://www.roymorgan.com/findings/7641-media-net-trust-june...

Why would the current right-wing Australian government fund a socialist station?

  > Why would the current right-wing Australian government fund a socialist station? I think that's a matter of historical tradition. They have attempted, (and have in the past reduced funding).

They would very much love to not do that, but obviously trying to stop that is very hard when you have to have support of both sides of politics. They have currently frozen their budgets though.
