I think their point may have been that there is no adequate protection from ticks right now and that we urgently need to invent one. I am always at risk of a jet landing on my head, but at a far lesser extent than getting a tick going to my tomatoes. Getting Lyme sounds about 1/3 as bad as a jet to the head.
