- martin__ 7y agoAll IoT devices are exposed to the internet by design. That's what the "I" stands for, Internet.

- henryfjordan 7y agoBut are the addressable? My IoT devices are on my network but you would need to get yourself inside my network to talk to them. I'm not exposing ports for my lights...

- sdinsn 7y agoLots of people. One of the selling points of things like smart thermostats is the you can remotely control them; you can set them to your preferred temperature as you are traveling home so it will be nice when you arrive.
- cs02rm0 7y agoAnd those thermostats are open on the internet? Not connecting out to an intermediate server that you also remotely connect to?
