I really wanted to get into the promise-land of Haskell, and tried hard to, but my enthusiasm went south when I found out I can hit bugs with lazy-IO that the compiler wouldn't warn me about.
- jose_zap 7y agoLazy Io was an unfortunate historic accident, one which is preached much against in the Haskell community. Alternative standard libraries abound in the ecosystem that remove this accident.
