How come a company doesn't require enough enough from the scammers to track them down and get the camera back? This company is literally doing nothing to help

How come a company doesn't require enough enough from the scammers to track them down and get the camera back? This company is literally doing nothing to help them. I feel so sad looking at this entire thing, not only he lost his camera but also wasted so much time with zero support offered by the company.
