I think you would be surprised about the total number of hours people actually spend working... many of the jobs that I've worked (specifically my business) were a legitimate 60-70 hours of real work a week. I know this because I tracked it, and a lot of those hours were billable. I will say though in my experience 80 hours is possible but most people that say "80 hour weeks" are using it as hyperbole. If someone comes to you and says they do 62 hour weeks... its probably real.
