The biggest dev-time factors in my professional work time are: 1. A (de-facto) standard toolchain, incl pkg management 2. A rich ecosystem of 3rd-party packages. Which sadly rules out a number of languages that would otherwise be very interesting. Without those 2, I can spend hours fighting with implementing code that I know could be done in a few minutes with a more widely-used language.
