I hooked up the raspberry pi to an old monitor I hung over the kitchen table. It boots up shortly before dinner time for an hour and then displays "Find my Friends" on Chromium in kiosk mode. (Inspired bij the Weasly family clock from Harry Potter). It's a fixture I couldn't live without anymore. When family members travel you still feel connected. It has a tiny ruby script to rotate through pages, during breakfast it displays the kids' upcoming class schedule.
