My most recent use has been teaching game development. I have kids and their friends are often around the house. A couple of them asked if I knew how to program games and I've been teaching them using Pico-8. Many of these kids don't have computers at home so as a reward for finishing their first project I'm making them a home console with some RPi's I have laying about and Pico8.
