- huffmsa 7y agoHertz is what I've landed on. -- Female CEO -- 100+ years old -- rentals -- Has quietly bought up it's competition Only thing which doesn't line up is employee numbers. And they had Accenture do Angular app development.
- msoad 7y agoHow does gender of the CEO matter here? [edit] now I understood. sorry
- huffmsa 7y agoBecause we're trying to figure out which company the author is alluding to. And the author stipulated female CEO. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and not "zomg tech sexism!!1!", Sigmund.
- rerx 7y agoI guess because of this quote FTA: > And what happens when the company gets a new CEO? What if she decides to break up the company again?
- wizzairflyer 7y agoIsn't the "she" here refering to a potential new CEO? I assumed it was akin to the style of academic writing where you use she instead of he to refer to a person whose gender is unknown in order to fight gender stereotype or something similar (example: "the developer, when she sees fit, can[...]")
- karrotwaltz 7y agoIs this really a style though? I always assumed it was due to writers being non-native english speakers, and applying their primary language's noun gendering to english (In my case, in French all nouns are gendered)
- aeorgnoieang 7y agoYes, it's really a 'style'. Some people switch between feminine and masculine pronouns too.

- hluska 7y agoI was thinking of Hertz, but the corporate history doesn’t align. The post said the company had about 100 years of history, but Hertz was founded in 1958.
- RandallBrown 7y agoRent-A-Car Inc, which eventually became Hertz, was founded in 1918.
- wastedhours 7y agoThey are listed as a MuleSoft customer too: https://www.mulesoft.com/ https://www.mulesoft.com/
- whatshisface 7y agoWow, I thought that MuleSoft was a made-up anonymized name like SuperRentalCorp...
- wastedhours 7y agoThey used to trade on the NYSE as MULE before Salesforce bought them for a few 'bill. Think it was a legit reference to "donkey work".
