I feel like sometimes short-term solutions can undermine long-term solutions. If the root of the issue is skyrocketing college cost due to lack of supply then this is going to reward all the consumers who weren't financially responsible (i.e. majored in something unprofitable), which in turn alleviates the market pressure on colleges to offer better value.
