Those are low-activity repositories mostly for waste from medical uses of nuclear technology, not the highly radioactive stuff from reactors.

  Again, you are factually wrong. The first active repository in the list I just linked to you is used for nuclear wastes from a nuclear power plant. I just checked the first, there will be more if you just take the time to get informed. Get your facts straight.
