While I think the "look at the apps we're not using" is a useful note, I don't think curiosity about these sorts of things is a matter of inadequate people going, "if only I used their tools..." I just assume that those with more experience or prominence might have a better line on some useful tools I haven't come across or tried. Like Picasso said, "When artists get together they talk about where you can buy cheap turpentine."
