Firefox's containers is also a poor man's version of Chrome profiles. I want completely separate _everything_. Firefox's Profiles is similar, but then you get warnings about Firefox already running when you click a link in a non-Firefox program.
These things are deal breakers for me.
- OrgNet 7y agoDo you have an example URL? I don't have an 8k or 4k display but I have never seen that
- jtreminio 7y agoI complained about it here, with a screenshot: https://twitter.com/juantreminio/status/1137563286319316992 https://twitter.com/juantreminio/status/1137563286319316992
- jamienicol 7y agoAre you running Firefox Nightly? If so do you have webrender enabled? If you check about:support it should tell you.
- jtreminio 7y agoFirefox that comes packaged in Fedora. No config changes made. I believe it's the Roboto font at small sizes that causes issues on Firefox.

Use about:profiles to launch a process with another profile I don't have any issue with fonts in F30, do you have a picture illustrating the issue? https://imgpile.com/i/1JyqT1 https://imgpile.com/i/1JyqT1 Roboto font at 14pt, 115 dpi, default antialiasing in Plasma
- jtreminio 7y agoHaving multiple Firefox profile instances running triggers this issue: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/78689/fix-firefox-is-already-running-issue-in-linux https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/78689/fix-firefox-i... The font issue I linked in another reply: https://twitter.com/juantreminio/status/1137563286319316992 https://twitter.com/juantreminio/status/1137563286319316992
- eclipseo76 7y agoI use this https://github.com/silenc3r/fedora-better-fonts https://github.com/silenc3r/fedora-better-fonts on Fedora. It enables subpixel font rendering.

Firefox's Profiles is similar, but then you get warnings about Firefox already running when you click a link in a non-Firefox program. Containers is solving a different problem than you have. If you have multiple profiles running, how do you want it to know which in profile to load the link? You could set your link helper in your OS to run Firefox with the --profile option, to pre-set it, if that's what you want.
- jtreminio 7y agoChrome opens non-Chrome clicked links in last active window, no matter the profile. This is the expected behavior.
