I believe with the recent recall, Apple's doing the bare minimum in a PR damage control. A lot more batteries have to be affected than they're letting in. My MBP mid-2015 has swollen batteries twice in 3.5 years. Now I have to pay $500-750 (Authorized Service Providers quote), as Apple Care expired, for something that increasingly looks like Apple's fault.
