Atlassian has a wider suite of products. I would say HipChat is the Slack alternative. Slack has nothing like Jira, BitBucket, or Trello. And Atlassian is more developer centric whereas Slack is monetizing enterprise users.
- tdhoot 7y agoHipChat is dead. Atlassian threw in the towel and partnered with Slack for messaging.
- theturtletalks 7y agoDidn’t know about this. Thanks for filling me in.
- cycrutchfield 7y agoHipChat is awful, and only an alternative in a very charitable sense of that word. > Slack has nothing like Jira, BitBucket, or Trello. And thank goodness for that, because those are awful as well.
- firecall 7y agoTrello is a decent product! (but not created by Atlassian) Jira I've always hated... gawd. Just something about the way it does thing... so complicated. Hated that product. BitBucket is what it is - almost never used the web interface. Confluence is their other product... also not great and just a bit annoying to use for some reason.
- fouc 7y agoActually hipchat was quite nice to use, fast and responsive for awhile, and I loved some of their built in emoticons. I think they didn't really maintain it and keep it up to date with the competition.
