The explanation is on the about page.
- joemi 7y agoI've now read that entire page several times, and I don't believe that the explanation is truly there. The about page does a good job of explaining why accessibility is important, what "A11Y" means, and states that The Accessibility Project's goal is essentially to further accessibility on the web. It's very easy to interpret that page as meaning/implying they originated the term "A11Y" and/or that "A11Y" is specifically related to The A11Y Project, and therefore that The A11Y Project page is the defacto "A11Y page", for someone who has not come across the numeronym "a11y" before. But whatever... This is rather off-topic to the main point of this HN post.
