If we want to take parental leave, then save a little while you're working so you can live on the savings when you need to. I am as guilty as anyone else, but we can't deny the reality. The US is also very high in per capita resource consumption, and we don't need the government, or a small private cartel telling us how much to work and how to spend our money.
