Cable providers like to lure people in with sports channels and then force sports to only appear in the top payment tier.
- stirlo 7y agoIn Australia the dominate cable provider who owns 80+% of sports rights has just launched this (Kayo Sports). Costs 2.5x ($25AUD) a basic Netflix connection ($10AUD) though.
- nwellnhof 7y ago> Or is there? DAZN (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DAZN https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DAZN) is increasingly popular, at least in Europe.
- ThirdFoundation 7y agoIn the US this is unlikely to happen because the big 4 sports all want to control their own distribution, TV rights, and streaming. I think they believe there's more money in that method.
