I think it is because the "nutcases" (a rude term BTW) were specified to be on one side of the political spectrum, and that the country chosen for the example of "persuading the American electorate" (later referred to as "Gullible people") also implies something about one side of the political spectrum. Overall, the comment strongly implies that one side of the political spectrum has the "nutcases" and "Gullible people".
That just isn't very nice.
- RantyDave 7y agoWell, when did left wing anybody engage in violence against a right wing anything? Nobody's driven their car through a Trump rally, have they? I'm from England, BTW, where "nutcase" is a part of the common vernacular and I'm sorry you've taken offence. But I'm not sure about gullible. Did people vote for Trump because they were persuaded he would be a good leader? If they merely decided of their own accord then presumably this is naivety. Are there people who voted for Trump and are happy with his performance? In which case their decision making skills have served them well. As for the electorate as a whole, well, that's democracy for you.

- gdy 7y agoThey voted for Trump because they voted against Clinton.
