Should I Fire an Employee Who Lied to Me?
- duxup 7y agoA time tracker on the computer, that sends a pretty clear / negative sign about trust from the employer. Employees often behave as they think they are expected to...
- philliphaydon 7y agoUnless time tracking is used to bill customers. Why have time tracking for employees? Isn’t this just distrust?!?
- slippinjimmy 7y agoThe company will become disfunctional if dishonesty and distrust fester among the employees. SMB, in that Reddit thread would be an example. You can follow two paths: purge the dishonest or develop the honest. If you can screen for honesty in the hiring process, it would be smart and efficient to train for a culture of honesty and have a process to rehabilitate when pissible. Outright criminality is surely a deal breaker, but most people who are worth hiring are worth some effort to keep and develop. "Just Culture" is the actual name for what we are discussing here.
