- ncmncm 7y ago"Could replace some antidepressants" Fixed that for you. "Depression" is a diagnosis that identifies at least a half-dozen independent illnesses with different etiologies. Thus far, the only reliable way we know to distinguish one from the others is by which (if any) existing medication helps it. Some meds might help with more than one. Often more than one is present, or is accompanied by anxiety or OCD. Then, a medication might help with only part of the problem. So, it would be great if psilocybin cured or just treated one or more varieties of depression. But, which ones?
