There are also only a few hundred reviews, not the thousands mentioned by the article. I'd guess that Yelp watches his page pretty closely and deletes any reviews that are obviously fake. That said, I'd bet that the majority of the 1-star reviews, even the ones that appear believable, are still fictional.
