So for every kWh of sunlight, we're now generating .25kWh of power. And this specific degradation is almost not fixable, because the exact same issue happens with silicon-based LEDs, the Auger/watercooler effect. You need PERFECT junction deposition and PERFECT wafers and PERFECT finger lines and much much more. This is nowhere near as simple as the article makes it out to be.
