Judging by the attitudes displayed by Americans online, in general even though it could be a vocal minority, they are in so much debt to the smart American people that worked their butts off in the last century. If it weren't for the ground work laid by those brilliant scientists and politicians, the current attitude of "we rock, everyone else sucks and inferior" wouldn't have netted them much at all.
