Ironically, this list is a great example of survivorship bias. We only know about inventors killed by their own inventions where the scene was understood well enough to be reported and the incident notable enough to survive into Wikipedia. It would be easy enough for someone way ahead of their time to have an unexplained death with a bunch of weird artifacts surrounding them.
