http://www.braintreepaymentsolutions.com http://www.braintreepaymentsolutions.com They offer everything the big dogs do, but their staff is incredibly helpful and attentive. We use them on FamSpam and GitHub. I wouldn't find the merchant with the lowest rates, find the one you like the most. As your business grows, you can always renegotiate your rates.

They don't even post their rates anywhere? That always makes me uncomfortable. http://www.braintreepaymentsolutions.com/truth-in-pricing-guarantee/m/7/ http://www.braintreepaymentsolutions.com/truth-in-pricing-gu...

Rates vary on sale quantity and average price, it's not a flat fee like Paypal. You need to email them for a quote.

I filled out the quote page 4 hours ago... We'll see what happens.

Or at least less likely to investigate them further...

Im not sure what you are charging for or what your business is, but beware that Braintree routinely turns down businesses that their underwriter considers 'risky'. MANY Web2.0 businesses fall into this category. Social networking, some SaaS, online dating, etc. You may have to shop around to find a payment solution that fits your business. Just a heads up.

There was actually just a bunch of discussion about BrainTree on one of the mailing lists I read: http://groups.google.com/group/rails-business/browse_thread/thread/13a1e7f85a87236b http://groups.google.com/group/rails-business/browse_thread/...
